Couple of tips:


  1. Get your pet accustomed to being in the car by making short trips, best a week or two before your planed trip.

  2. NEVER allow your pet to hang out of the window. I know (from experience) that they LOVE it, but it’s really NOT safe at all. (See picture)


  3. Which restrain is best for your pet a harness or a carrier? Compare them before your trip.

  4. Because pets are easily startle and sometimes confused in a new location, always use a leash.

  5. Your pet could require a pet sedative when traveling, for more information contact your veterinarian.

  6. Confirm with your lodging if pets are accepted and what are the conditions of the stay and the rate of the deposit rate.

  7. Last but not least, travel with everything you will need for your pet. E.g. his/her favorite blanket, toys, treats, food (food and water dish), paper towels, a way to scoop and dispose of dog waste.
